Description

Even if one day will never be enough to discover everything, our expert Driver-Guide will be able to adapt the visit to suit first-timers or those already familiar with the magnificent sites that makes Paris so special, and take the time to include a guided visit of the Louvre Museum.

According to our time-slot you will be taken to the Louvre Museum, previously home to the French monarchy for 600 years, opening its doors as the museum we know today in 1793. Having skip-the-line reservation tickets you will waste no time queuing, after admiring the Louvre’s glass pyramid entrance you will be able to start enjoying the wonders that this fabulous museum has to offer. With your help our guide will determine just how to orientate the tour so as to fit into your desires and interests.

You will for sure get to see the classic works that are immediately associated with the Louvre, such as Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, probably the most gazed upon painting in history, this mastery of the Renaissance period seems to inspire more and more mystery and curiosity from those who admire that ‘enigmatic smile’.

Amongst the other 35,000 works of art and historical artifacts, you can discover the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, Delacroix’s ‘Liberty Leading the People’, Géricault’s ‘The Raft of the Medusa’, as well as numerous prominent works by the leading artists of centuries gone by.

Then there are of course the ‘classics’, the Eiffel Tower, surely the most recognised symbol of our capital, dominating the left-bank of the River Seine. Staying on the left bank you can pass through the St Michel and Latin quarters, leading eventually to Notre-Dame Church.

To the other side of the river, you may want to take photos around The Arc de Triomphe, Napoleon’s edifice to his glory, dominating the skyline and starting point to 12 iconic avenues, most notably of which being the illustrious Champs Elysées.

In this same quarter, you can take in such wonderful sites such as Place Vendome, Place de la Concorde, Madeleine church and the Opera Garnier, as with the other places you see your guide will be delighted to add some historical flesh to these imposing structures. For the shopaholics amongst you, there are all the high-brand stores you can wish for in this very same area. Maybe you will prefer to visit Montmartre, with its iconic Romano-Byzantine style church The Sacré Coeur.

These are just some of the extraordinary places you will be able to see on this Grand Tour of Paris, we’re sure that you will leave with a head full of memories.
