Description
Once you and your family have finished this tour with our experienced Driver-Guide, you will be able to show off to your friends with your knowledge of the world’s most renowned museum and most famous royal palace.
Depending on our reservation slot times you will be taken to the Louvre Museum either the morning or the afternoon, previously home to the French monarchy for 600 years, opening its doors as the museum we know today in 1793. Having skip-the-line reservation tickets you will waste no time queuing, after admiring the Louvre’s glass pyramid entrance you will be able to start enjoying the wonders that this fabulous museum has to offer. Being the largest museum in the world does pose certain problems, like where to start and how to fit in as much as possible in the time allowed, with your help our guide will determine just how to orientate the tour so as to fit into your desires and interests.
You will for sure get to see the classic works that are immediately associated with the Louvre, such as Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, probably the most gazed upon painting in history, this mastery of the Renaissance period seems to inspire more and more mystery and curiosity from those who admire that ‘enigmatic smile’.
Amongst the other 35,000 works of art and historical artifacts, you can discover the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, Delacroix’s ‘Liberty Leading the People’, Géricault’s ‘The Raft of the Medusa’, as well as numerous prominent works by the leading artists of centuries gone by.
You will spend either the morning or the afternoon at Versailles Palace, famous for being the last ‘residence’ of Louis XV1 and Marie-Antionette. Built by Louis X1V, in part by jealousy of Nicolas Foucquet’s Vaux-le-Vicomte and part to get away from the city and its habitants, Versailles Palace has a unique place in French history.
Your experienced guide will be able to paint a picture of what is what like during this crucial period of Pre-Revolutionary France. Whether it’s the Hall of Mirrors, the Royal Chapel, Royal Opera or the State Appartements, you will be fascinated by this visit. From April to October, almost every day, you will be able to visit the magnificent gardens and enjoy the Musical Fountains Show.
