For many visitors to France, the Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches cannot be missed, theatres of one of the most important and tragic periods in modern history, couple this with a tour of Giverny and you have a complete and eclectic visit.

Your personal driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel, and after an approximately 3 hour drive you will arrive at the D-Day Landing Beaches. The first stop will be at the small town of Arromanches. From the hills, you will be able to see the remains of the artificial harbour built by the Allies in 1944.

From there, we will head toward the nearby town of Longues-sur-Mer and visit one of the most well-preserved German batteries. 4 casemates with original canons and an observation point. This place will be a great opportunity to learn more about the German troops stationed in Normandy and the Atlantic Wall.

You will be given free time for lunch at the quaint fishermen’s town of Port-en-Bessin, your guide will help in your choice.

The entire afternoon will be consecrated to Omaha Beach, you will tread in the footsteps of the American soldiers who landed on June 6th 1944, your guide will help you understand the events that took place during Operation Overlord or the D-Day Normandy Landings. You may not be able to stop imagining yourself in the places of these young men, putting their lives on the line to liberate France.

You will then be taken to the American Cemetery in Colleville sur Mer, overlooking Omaha beach and the burial site those who laid down their lives, you will be moved by the perfect alignment of 9,000 white crosses

This poignant visit will end at Pointe du Hoc, 90-foot high cliffs situated between the Utah and Omaha beaches and the famous site of the heroic operation of 2 battalions of Rangers who scaled the cliff to neutralize an important German battery threatening both Omaha and Utah beaches.

For a total contrast in the afternoon, you will be driven to Claude Monet’s House & Gardens in Giverny. The Father of Impressionism, Monet, made this Normandy village known around the world by spending the second half of his life there. Enjoy the unique beauty of his picturesque estate, including the breathtaking French gardens, Japanese-style garden with its wonderful waterlilies pond and finally the house of the painter. Your guide will then give you free time to enjoy the gift shop before heading back to Paris driving on the scenic roads and through the charming villages of the French countryside
